Laspotech usurp YABATECH as they emerge winners of NIPOGA 2017

NIPOGA 2017: LASPOTECH wins 19th NIPOGA with 16 gold

Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) Ikorodu has emerged the overall winners of the 19th Nigeria Polytechnic Games, tagged “Nasarawa 2017” held at the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, Nasarawa State.

The games which was promoted by A3 Foundation, recorded saw the participation of no fewer than 4,000 athletes from 41 polytechnics.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that LASPOTECH  won 47 medals, made up of 16 gold, 16 silver and 15 bronze.

The second position went to the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti, with 15 gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze.

Defending champions Yaba College of Technology, (YABATECH), who had won the competition 18 times, the only polytechnic to have achieved such feat, however, settled for the third position with 10 gold, 13 silver and 14 bronze.

Hosts Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa, Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, Zaria and The Polytechnic, Ibadan were fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, Zaria emerged winners of the female Basketball event, while hosts Nasarawa Polytechnic emerged winners of both the male and female football events.

Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti were the overall winners in Athletics, while Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia emerged the overall best in Judo.

Also, YABATECH finished as the overall best in Scrabble.

The games which began on April 29 came to an end with the closing ceremony on Saturday attended by Gov Tanko Al-Makura of Nassarawa state and many sports dignitaries.

2017 EDITION OF NIPOGA KICKS OFF TODAY

The 2017 edition of the Nigeria polytechnic games kicked off today with a colourful opening ceremony today. This year's edition hosted by the FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, NASSARAWA happens to be the 19th edition of the games.
Representatives of the Lagos state polytechnic were present at the opening Ceremony with their colourful and matching attires.

LASPOSUG SETS TO CHANGE OFFICIAL LOGO

The official release from the student union government read

"We hereby bring into notice of all Mass Communication students to compete in the on-going creation of Lagos State Polytechnic Student Union Government (LASPOSUG) new logo creation as part of the means of reviewing the Union constitution.
The students who are interested are to make findings on the objectives of the union and draw their inspirations from it.
However, the logo must portray a true representation of the union core values as well as the mission statement and vision statement.
Furthermore, a day has been chosen which is stated below for all entries to be submitted and scrutinised to pick the suitable and adopted logo. More so, the benefits of the winner include an undisclosed amount of money as well as patent right for the logo adopted.
Conclusively, all entries must be submitted to waxyung@gmail.com or chipscce@gmail.com on or before 8/05/2017 entries must include the designed logo in pdf format and shall include the name of the designer and the faculty as well as their matriculation number. LASPOTECH ANNOUNCES DATE FOR SIWES ORIENTATION FOR ND1 STUDENTS

All ND1 students in the schools of Agriculture, Communication and liberal studies, Engineering, Environmental, pure and applied science and Technology are hereby informed that the orientation programme for 2017 SIWES has been scheduled to hold on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the SM&BS (700 seater) Auditorium, Ikorodu campus by 10:00am prompt.
All concerned students are expected to have purchased thier log books and the accompanying documents before the day so as to be able to ask relevant questions surrounding the programme.
